Destination Anticipation – Turkey

Turkey has always felt like the main objective of our trip. Perhaps this is partially due to the fact that we initially only planned up to this point, however with so much to see and do, we’ve been dreaming about visiting for years and it was the one destination we based the rest of our itinerary around.

Now that we are touching down in Istanbul tomorrow, it feels more real than ever before – and puts the rest of our trip, and how long we’ve been away, into perspective. With almost twenty-eight full days in the country, we hope to cover a respectable portion of Turkey’s incredible attractions and world heritage sites.

What are we most excited about doing and seeing in Turkey?

Although it’s tough to come up with only one or two items, Travis is excited to explore the ancient roman ruins of Ephesus and try is luck at a self-guided tour of Istanbul’s street food scene. While I on the other hand am nearly giddy over the possibility of taking a hot air balloon ride over Cappadocia. I’d also like to make some time to explore Istanbul’s bazaars and hopefully leave with a bit more weight in my pack (if you know what I mean).

Although our time is sure to whiz by in a flash, we are so excited for the next month and all the adventures it is sure to bring. Make sure to come back and catch up with us as we explore Turkey!
